Pallet jacks are an essential item for almost any retail shop with a warehouse out the back. A pallet jack is a two-pronged apparatus on wheels with a lifting capability, which is used to lift and move pallets of stock.
They are incredibly handy for retail use as staff do not require a licence to operate them, they just require appropriate training. They allow you to move pallets in and out of your warehouse with ease, enabling better management of stock flow.

- Make sure the wheels run smoothly
- Test the lifting and lowering function to ensure either hasn’t become lax with prolonged use, i.e. when you go to lower a pallet of stock slowly does it slam to the floor, leaving you with little control?
- Check the prongs and handle for dints and damage, if it’s looking a little worse for wear have it inspected by a professional. Remember it’s better to be safe than sorry.
